How to compare dates... ?

Hi ..

In my project data is coming from Odata Services .......

Consider trip start date is coming from back end, i am getting value like this

Tue Jan 27 2015 05:30:00 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time)

But when user selects ticket date from datepicker, it comes like this

Tue Jan 27 2015 00:00:00 GMT+0530 (India Standard Time)

I must display if both dates are same. But in this case both dates are same but due to that 05:30:00 Date from back end will be always greater .

In my case time is another field, so here i dont need time here. I just want to compare dates
